Clutter Free Kitchens – How to organize your kitchen utensils
We know you love cooking or baking: it is evident with the number of pots and pans unwashed waiting to be cleansed and put in their respective racks, the number of dishes and tools cluttered in the corner of your countertop and your new set of utensils waiting to be organized.
Organizing your utensils, tools, and pans can be challenging especially if you have so many. You need them to be within reach yet you need a clear countertop so you can do your food preparation. They need to put on specific spots dedicated to each tool so that they are not cluttered and you will not have a hard time getting them when they are needed. If you own a bunch of kitchen stuff and more or less forgotten to use half of them because of how disorganized your kitchen is then you need to start organizing.
Read on our tips to organize your kitchen utensils.
On a towel rack
Using a towel rack’s S-hooks to hang utensils is a smart way to save space. They are easy to mount and easy to use. Although heavy items like cast iron pans are not advised to be hanged here, you can use this for lighter items like spatulas and ladle.
In a pitcher
If you have a bunch of spatulas and ladle that you need within reach of your stovetop then storing them in a pitcher is a handy idea.
On the side of the cabinets
If you do not have much wall space or you cannot mount anything on them because your landlord will not let you, the side of your cabinets is a great place to hang your utensils. You can hang individual hooks or bars on the sides of your cabinets for instant storage. That is also within reach.
In a pull-out drawer
If your pull-out drawer is a cluttered mess, you are not alone. Most home cooks tend to stash every little tool inside their pull out drawers and end up losing them in the chaos. So when the time comes that you need that corkscrew or that small paring knife you end up removing all the contents of your pull-out drawer just to find a single item. Organizing your pull-out drawer with table organizers that you can find in craft stores is a great way to categorize the items in the drawer. It is also a cheap alternative and it has different lengths and sizes for different tools.
Inside a cabinet door
If your cabinet is not stuffed to its fullest, you may want to maximize its door by attaching hooks inside to hang smaller items. It is a clean and refreshing way to store away your other tools that are not used so often.
Use shelf inserts
Maximize your shelves even more with shelf inserts. These are dividers that are not permanent and can be easily moved around and changed. depending on the height of the tools you are storing, one cabinet can store 2 pots of the same size in the same space.
